This Privacy Policy applies only to the FunGog Android application distributed through Google Play. It does not apply to the FunGog website or any other platforms.

FunGog ("the App") is developed and published by an individual developer based in Ontario, Canada ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies solely to the FunGog Android application distributed through Google Play.
Overview
FunGog is an interactive museum companion application that allows users to scan artworks and receive stories, facts, and audio explanations using artificial intelligence. The app is designed to operate without user accounts, email registration, or subscriptions, using anonymous access only. We collect only the minimum data required to provide core functionality and protect the app from abuse.
Strict Age Requirement (18+)
FunGog is intended exclusively for users aged 18 and older.
If you are under 18, you are not permitted to use the app. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that data from a minor has been collected inadvertently, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
1. Data We Collect
1.1 Data You Provide
Images:
When you use the camera to scan an artwork, the image is transmitted to backend servers for real-time processing. Images are not stored and are discarded immediately after processing.
Text Input:
Text you provide, including text generated from on-device voice-to-text processing, is transmitted to our backend servers to generate responses.
Voice Input:
Voice input is processed locally on your device. Audio recordings are not transmitted to our servers and are not stored. Only the resulting text is sent.
1.2 Automatically Collected Data
Anonymous Identifiers:
FunGog uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to generate a pseudonymous identifier. This identifier is not linked to your real‑world identity and is used solely to associate token balances and usage data.
Usage Data:
We collect app usage information such as access timestamps and feature usage related to core app functionality.
Token and Purchase Data:
Token balances and usage are stored in association with anonymous identifiers. In-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing.
Network Data:
IP addresses may be processed transiently as part of normal server operations such as security, fraud prevention, and abuse protection. IP addresses are not stored long-term.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
- User-created accounts or profiles
- Precise location data
- Contacts or address book information
- Advertising identifiers
- Analytics or behavioral profiling data
- Crash analytics data (at this time)
3. How We Use Data
We use collected data only for:
- Providing core app functionality
- Processing images and text to generate AI-based responses
- Managing token usage and in-app purchases
- Fraud prevention, security, and abuse protection
- Ensuring app integrity, including use of Google Play Integrity API
We do not use data for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Data Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell user data.
We may transfer data to service providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions. These include:
- Cloud infrastructure providers
- Artificial intelligence service providers (large language model APIs)
- Google Play Services (including Billing, Firebase, and Integrity services)
These providers act solely as service providers and are not permitted to use data for their own independent purposes.
5. Security & Encryption
All data transmitted between the FunGog app and backend servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. While industry‑standard security measures are used, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
Images are processed in real time and are not stored.
Anonymous identifiers, token balances, and usage data may be retained on backend systems even after the app is uninstalled.
Because FunGog does not use user accounts or collect identifying information, stored data cannot be reliably linked to a specific individual.
7. Data Deletion and Loss of Tokens
FunGog uses anonymous identifiers only.
Users cannot request targeted deletion of data because the app does not maintain identifiable user accounts. If the app is uninstalled, app data is cleared, or the anonymous identifier is reset, previously associated data and tokens may become inaccessible and cannot be recovered.
We are not able to restore tokens or usage data once the anonymous identifier is lost.
8. In‑App Purchases
FunGog offers consumable in‑app purchases exclusively through Google Play Billing.
We do not process or store payment card information. Payment data is handled directly by Google in accordance with Google's privacy policies.
9. International Data Transfers
Backend servers are located in the United States.
By using the app, you understand that data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence, including the United States. Reasonable measures are taken to protect data in accordance with applicable laws.
10. Privacy Rights & Legal Compliance
This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with applicable privacy laws, including:
- Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
- Applicable European data protection principles where relevant
Because FunGog processes data anonymously, certain rights such as access or deletion may be technically limited.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date will be revised when changes are made. Continued use of the app indicates acceptance of the updated policy. It is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
